How to Register

You’ll need to register with ASDA Groceries before you can have your shopping delivered. Once you’ve checked your postcode and found we deliver in your area, just click on the Register now button. Tell us a few details about yourself, set your password and then start shopping.

What information do we need so that we can deliver to you?

Your address details
For security reasons, you’ll need to use the address to which your main payment card is registered to. In addition, you can also include alternative delivery addresses, such as your work address, a neighbour’s, friend’s, or a relative’s.

Your contact numbers
Please make sure you include your home and mobile telephone numbers. The only reason we need these is so that our driver or Customer Service team can get in touch with you if there is a problem with your order or if your delivery is delayed.

Changing your personal details

You can update or amend your details at any time. Simply go to the Your account section and click on Your personal details

How to Shop

We’ve got lots of really handy ways to make shopping on our site not only easier and quicker but also to allow you to personalise your shopping experience.

How to find products and shop
Product search

If you know what you’re looking for, finding it is easy. Simply type the name of a product in the search box in the top right hand corner of the page, select ‘Products’ from the drop down list and click ‘go’. You can also search for lots of items at the same time too. For instance, you can search for eggs, milk, bread and cheese. Just type in the names with a comma between each one.

Products Alternatively you can click on Products_list which is next to the Go button and type in a list of names with a comma between each one, or just hit the return bar after each entry.

Top of page

Browse by aisle

Our online store is divided into departments, aisles & shelves, just like your local store. When you click on a department on the menu at the top of the screen (e.g. Fruit and Veg), all the aisles such as Fresh Fruit, Prepared Salads etc will become visible directly below the department.

When you click on an aisle you will be shown all the items that appear in that aisle. Simply browse through the items and select those you wish to purchase. Alternatively, all the shelves will appear in the guided navigation section and you can select a shelf such [e.g. Apples or Pears]. You will then be shown all the products currently available on the shelf.

To add an item to your trolley simply enter the quantity you require and click the ‘add’ button. The product will automatically appear in your shopping trolley on the right of the screen.

Top of page

Using guided navigation

Guided navigation allows you to filter your search results i.e. by brand, size, pack type etc depending on the aisle you are shopping from. Simply click on the different options available to refine your search in order to help you find the items you are looking for. For example if you are shopping in the meat aisle and have a very special meal in mind, you can refine your search using guided navigation to only show ‘Extra Special’ meat.

Top of page

Buying weighed items

To make shopping even easier, or where quantity of an item might be important you can now not only shop by weight, but also by quantity – i.e. if you want 6 apples, you can choose to shop by ‘each’. All you need to do is enter the number of items you require and select ‘each’ from the drop down list. Then click ‘Add’ to place your order. This will appear as an approximate weight in your basket but our pickers in store will know that your request was for a particular number of an item and will try to ensure this is what you receive.

Top of page

Setting your browse preferences

We all like to shop a certain way. So, if you’d prefer to see a particular kind of product first, why not let us know? Simply click on the your account tab at the top of the ASDA Groceries homepage, and then select the browsing section. You can then choose one option from a selection of product categories, such as Organic, Gluten Free, Nut Free, and others. Then, once you’ve made your selection, we’ll usually show you those products first.

Top of page

Substitutions

If you add a product to your trolley and we find it’s out of stock, we’ll always try to find you something similar. For example, if you ask for a small packet of ASDA Digestive biscuits, in the unlikely event that we’ve run out, we might give you a larger packet instead. (Don’t worry, you’ll always pay for the lowest priced product.)

We always assume that you’re happy to accept substitute products. But if you’re not, you can let us know in the your_shoping_subs ‘Your Shopping Substitutions’ section of Your account. You can always override this preference for individual products when you reach the order summary in checkout, simply by checking or unchecking the box to ‘allow substitutes’.

Using shopping lists

To help make your online shopping even easier, we’ve created a number of handy pre-made shopping lists. There’s one for every occasion and you’ll find them all by clicking on the shopping_lists icon at the top of any page. You can select which list to view from the drop down list and then add the items you want to your trolley.

Top of page

Create your own shopping lists

To help make shopping easier, you can create your own personal shopping lists to use again and again. There are three simple ways to do this:

1. Add the products you want straight into your trolley. Next, click ‘Add all products to shopping list’ to save them as a list. And finally, remember to give each list a memorable name, such as ‘Weekly essentials’, or ‘Weekend top-up’. 2. Alternatively, you can create your list during the checkout process. Look out for the ‘Add all products to shopping list’ link on the order summary and order confirmation pages.

3.  The third way to create your lists by going to your account and clicking on your_favourites. Just choose a previous order, then select ‘Save order as a shopping list’.

Once you’ve created your lists, you can delete products or change quantities any time you like.

When you want to use your lists again, just click on the youraccount tab at the top of the page, then click on the your_shopping_list section. You can add whichever list you want straight to your trolley, or only add certain items.

Top of page

Your favourites

As soon as you buy a product, we’ll add it to your favourites. To see your full list, just click on the your_favourites icon at the top of every page. The list will be shown in order of those products you buy most often from each department, to buy them again simply add them to your trolley. It really is that easy.

Quick start shopping

Once you’re registered with ASDA Groceries, you can enter a few details from a till receipt and that entire shop can be added to your_favourites. If it’s a new till receipt, please wait 24 hours before entering the details; that’s how long it takes for the details to reach our system.

If you’d like to know how to do this, here’s an easy-to-follow guide:

eVouchers

eVouchers are ASDA’s way of saying ‘thanks’ to our customers, and they can vary depending on the offer. For example, our eVouchers can offer free delivery, money off your next order, savings on a specific product, or even a free product.

How eVouchers work

eVouchers work the same way as paper vouchers do (like the kind you would find in a newspaper or a magazine) and some will have specific conditions for use, i.e. minimum order value, delivery on a certain day/date/time, purchase of a particular product.

Remember, eVouchers are only valid for grocery shopping orders on www.grocery.asda.co.uk

Here’s a little more information on eVouchers and how they work:

ASDA eVouchers come in three different grades. Here’s your handy guide to each type:

Receiving eVouchers

We usually send out eVouchers by email, so make sure you check your ASDA Online Shopping emails regularly.

If you’ve chosen not to receive marketing messages from ASDA Home Shopping then we’re afraid we won’t be able to send you any at all. So, to be sure that you receive all the eVouchers you’re entitled to, simply visit the ‘Your Account’ section and change your contact preferences to ‘Send me news, offers and ideas’.

There are 2 ways ASDA can give you an eVoucher:

1. Special offer on an email or leaflet
Simply enter the code you’ve been given into the eVoucher code box at the checkout, or add it by clicking on your_account then by clicking on Your_promotion .

2. Directly into your www.ASDA.com account
From time to time we’ll say ‘thanks’ for shopping with us by putting eVouchers straight into your account. This might be ‘free delivery’ or money off your shopping. These discounts will go straight into your account, and you can see them by clicking on the our_promotion in the your_account section.

You just need to add these eVouchers to your order during checkout to get the discount.

eVoucher FAQ’s
What happens if I don’t use an eVoucher before it expires?

Once an eVoucher expires it will be removed from your account, so make sure you check the expiry date as soon as you receive it.

I’ve tried to select an eVoucher at checkout, why won’t it work?

Our eVouchers have specific terms and conditions. For instance, you might have an eVoucher giving you free delivery if you spend over £50. However, if the conditions for your eVoucher have not been met on your current order, you won’t be able to select it for use.

Some eVouchers can’t be used in conjunction with others. So if you’ve chosen to use one of these eVouchers on your current order, other eVouchers in your account will not be available.

What happens if I use an eVoucher, but the product stated isn’t available?

If the product you order isn’t available at the time we pick your order, the eVoucher will still be deducted from the cost of your order.

What happens if I amend, or cancel the order?

Any eVouchers you had redeemed will be returned to Your_promotion . You will need to select them again at the checkout every time you amend your order.

Can I use multiple eVouchers on the same order?

This depends on the terms and conditions of each eVoucher. It may be possible to redeem multiple eVouchers on one order but some eVouchers cannot be used in conjunction with others.

What happens if the total value of the eVouchers I redeem is greater than the value of my order?

The total eVouchers value will be adjusted to a maximum amount equal to your order value. Under these circumstances, the value of individual eVouchers may be reduced – we’ll confirm this at the checkout page – you can then decide if you want to use all your eVouchers at their new values.

Can I use discount vouchers online?

You can use eVouchers that have been issued by www.ASDA.com to claim free delivery and money off your orders. If you receive a leaflet with an eVoucher code, you will need to enter this in ‘Your Account’ or at checkout to load the eVoucher. However, we can only accept eVouchers, we won’t be able to accept any other type of paper voucher or coupon.

How do I add eVouchers to my account/order?

You can input an eVoucher code at any time by going to ‘Your promotions/eVouchers’ in ‘Your Account’. Once you have input the 8 digit code, the eVoucher will be stored in your account. You can apply it to your order during checkout. Alternatively you can enter an eVoucher code during checkout to upload it to your account. You will then need to apply it to your order.

Can I use an eVoucher in an ASDA store?

Sorry, eVouchers can only be used when shopping online at www.grocery.asda.com.

How do I make sure I am eligible for eVouchers?

To receive eVouchers just make sure you opt in to hear about exclusive offers, discounts and exciting news from ASDA. We’ll then send the best offers and promotions straight to your inbox. You can change your contact preferences in theyour_personal_details section of your_account .

I have received an eVoucher that I won’t use. Can I give this to a friend/relative?

Sorry, our eVouchers are just for you. You can’t give your e-Vouchers to a friend as eVoucher codes are customer-specific and non-transferable. However, you can recommend the ASDA.com site to your friends and family, and if they register they could get sent their own eVouchers.

I used an eVoucher discount code but it’s not showing on my delivery note, have I been overcharged?

No. At present the delivery note doesn’t show the eVoucher discount, Your total savings will be shown on your delivery note, this will include any eVouchers for free or discounted delivery. You will be able to see the eVouchers applied to your order during checkout.
